The airport authority said Air Canada now offers a red-eye flight to Toronto, departing from Saskatoon at 12:35 a.m. and arriving at Pearson International Airport around 5:40 a.m.
WestJet announced it's doubling its weekly service to Vancouver up to six flights per week from last year’s three flights per week.
Air Canada and WestJet also added an extra daily flight between Saskatoon and Calgary in an effort to enhance connectivity to major airports through Calgary’s hub.
Stephen Maybury, CEO of the airport authority, said with the increase in domestic air service, the Saskatoon market expects to gain 58,000 annual seats.
In February, when United Airlines decided to pull its service from Saskatoon, Maybury said they lost 55,000 annual seats.
